GENMAX FB3 — Semi-Automatic Mattress Tape Edge Machine

The FB3 closes the border on a finished mattress: one operator loads the mattress, the table lifts it to the sewing head, and the head runs the binding tape around the perimeter. Output is 10 to 20 mattresses per hour, and the machine handles anything from a 20 mm topper to a 500 mm pillow-top without changing setup.

Semi-automatic means the machine does the difficult part. The sewing head adjusts its own angle to follow the mattress edge, and the feed slows automatically going into every corner. The operator only guides the panel. That is what allows a new operator to produce a saleable edge within days instead of months, and it is why output on the FB3 does not depend on keeping one skilled sewer on the payroll.

A genuine sewing head, not a copy. A Singer 300U single-needle chain stitch head is fitted as standard. Chain stitch holds on thick multi-layer edges and unpicks cleanly if a panel has to be reworked. Typical TW4-L300UX5 and Typical 2603 heads are available if your plant already stocks parts for those. Needles, presser feet and thread are standard industrial sizes, so consumables come from any local supplier rather than only from us.

Built around the operator. The stainless steel table lets a heavy mattress slide instead of drag, and the finish will not mark a light-coloured cover. A single central motor raises and lowers the whole table, so it stays level whatever the mattress weighs — no hand crank, no uneven corners. The head travels on a linear guide rail with end limit switches. Start, stop, lift and emergency stop sit within reach of the sewing position.

Fits an existing factory. 1.2 kW total on single-phase AC 220 V, 50–60 Hz — no three-phase supply, no transformer. Footprint is 2000 × 1800 mm at 1600 mm working height, and the machine weighs 680 kg. Sewing speed is set on a Shihlin inverter, so the same machine runs slow for training and fast in production.

Suits the mattresses you already build. Pillow-top, Euro-top, box-top and standard quilted covers, in knit or damask, with light or dark tape. The FB3 sews a tight right angle, so square corners on box-top and Euro-top designs come out square rather than rounded.
