FAQ

Q1. What material can it crush?
PU foam off-cuts, latex, foam skin, mattress and cushion panels, simple fabric, and quilted fabric with foam still attached. Mixed fabric-and-foam is what the claw rotor is specifically built for.

Q2. Can it shred fabric that is still bonded to foam?
Yes. Quilted fabric with foam backing, mattress ticking and mixed textile all reduce to a usable chip. The claw rotor with 4 rows of fixed knives cuts material repeatedly across the full 780 mm width instead of dragging it through in one pass, which is what stops long fabric from winding onto the shaft.

Q3. What chip size does it produce?
1 to 50 mm, set by the screen you fit. Coarser screens run faster; finer screens give a more uniform chip. Screens are a change part and any hole size can be made to order.

Q4. What is the output?
700–1000 kg/h on a 20 mm screen, 600–900 kg/h on 15 mm. Figures are for plain PU foam — mixed fabric and latex run slower. Send a sample of your actual waste and we will confirm a realistic figure before you order.

Q5. Claw rotor or flat blade — which should I choose?
Claw type for tough mixed fabric, quilted panels and compressed offcuts. Flat blade for a cleaner cut and lower dust on plain foam, latex and foam skin. Specify at order.

Q6. Can I make different grades of output on one machine?
Yes — the screen is a change part. Run a fine screen for pillow fill, a coarser one for cushion or rebonding feedstock, from the same machine and the same waste.

Q7. Will there be dust in the workshop?
Configuration E adds vibrating dust extraction, which separates dust from the chip and gives a clean bagged product. On plain PU foam with a flat blade rotor dust is already low; on latex and foam skin the extraction unit is worth having.

Q8. Do I need the conveyor and cyclone?
No — configuration A is the standalone machine. The conveyor keeps the hopper loaded evenly, and the cyclone drops chip into a bulk bag instead of you shovelling it. Both can be added later.

Q9. My waste comes from stripped mattresses and contains staples and springs.
Fit the high-strength double-layer magnetic rack, 6000 Gauss. It removes ferrous metal before the material reaches the knives. Strongly recommended on any bought-in mixed waste — metal is the main cause of premature blade damage.
